Each bungalow comes with its own 14ft aluminium boat for your personel use.
Whether you want to go surfing, fishing or exploring the driver will take you there.
With local knowledge you will be able to explore magical beauty of Simakakang island and the surrounding islands.
MENTAWAI SURF TAX
Mentawai surf tax (Rs 2 000 000 per surfer for 14 days) was implemented by the Mentawai Regency in 2016 for projects to aid the Mentawai people.
WAVES
There are 10 waves of varying quality and level of surfing, 5 to 30 min away.
TIKUS (+- 5 MIN)
A right hander that is a longboarders delight and ideal for beginners.
G4 (+- 5 MIN)
Fast walling right hander. Can be fickle and often races away from you but occasionally offers some gems. Intermediate.
MEXICAN (+- 2 MIN)
Wedging slab. Fast take off into a short barrel. Not much wall. Ideal for charging bodyboarders and advanced surfers.
HOOKERS ( +- 5 MIN)
Left hander. Not surfed that often.Peak shifts a bit. The wave can be seen from the beach at Leleu and gives a good indicator to whats waiting around the corner. Intermediate to advanced.
SCARECROWS (+- 30 MIN)
Picturesque left hander. Picks up plenty of swell. 3 take off spots that can link up
ICELANDS (+- 8 MIN)
The wave around the corner. Right hander. The go to wave when there is not much swell. But when the swell is pumping then Icelands goes XL. Steep take off into a barrel on the big days. Not for the faint hearted.
Smaller days – intermediate surfers. Bigger days – advanced surfers.
SUICIDES (+- 10 MIN)
Typical Indo barreling wave. Needs a solid ground swell to get going. A shallow reef hollow right hander that leads into a rippable wall of joy. Recommended for advanced surfers only.
OMBAK TIDUR “sleeping wave” ( +- 10MIN)
Picks up a lot of swell. Right hander that serves up a meaty barrel and/or a wall to play on. Can go from mellow to terrifying as the swell grows. Advanced surfers.
TELESCOPES (+- 20 MIN)
The marque wave of the area. Needs a solid ground swell to show its glory. Long left hander with barrels and beautiful walls of water to perfect your turns on. Does get crowded but if the swell is pumping you will score. Intermediate to advanced.
